We went to see the wonderful Powell and Pressburger film “The Red Shoes” a few days ago.
Filmed in the year of my birth, it was showing at the Pavilion Theatre film club in Hailsham, not too many miles from where we live. It tells the story of a young ballerina, torn between her love of dancing and her love for a man – the composer of the ballet from which the film gets its name.
